RA Dalton Welcomes New Licensing & Permitting Administrator to Strengthen Operations

RA Dalton is pleased to welcome Katie to our team as our new Licensing & Permitting Administrator, supporting our Licensing & Permitting Coordinator in managing and streamlining Street Works projects.

Since joining, Katie has already made an impact by sourcing additional traffic management companies across the country, coordinating traffic management logistics, and ordering utility plans for planned highway works. Her role will enhance efficiency in scheduling and organising essential works, ensuring smooth operations for our growing projects.

As demand for sewer connections increases, driven by the Environment Agency’s preference for main sewer connections over private treatment systems, Katie’s role will be pivotal. Following her training, she will take ownership of her own projects—overseeing them from initial enquiry through to successful completion.

Reflecting on her experience so far, Katie shared:
“I haven’t been in a job role like this before, so I was nervous starting, but RA Dalton have been so helpful and understanding in the training process. I really appreciate how, no matter what department you’re in, everyone helps each other.”

The Keys to the New Van

As an RA Dalton Engineer, each site presents a different challenge and often a new problem to solve.

No two days are the same. This is why we invest heavily into the professional development of our new engineers.

Dylon Boyle joined RA Dalton nine months ago as an apprentice field engineer in our servicing division, working alongside our experienced service engineers while he gained the knowledge he needs to handle the variety of scenarios life as an RA Dalton engineer will throw at him.

Being on the road is not something new for Dylon. He previously worked in land drilling for three years before joining us and spent a significant portion of his working life travelling the length and breadth of the UK.

Over the past twelve months, he’s built up the technical skills, site experience and customer-facing confidence needed to work independently. This month, that progress was marked in the most practical way possible: his own liveried van, kitted out and ready for the road.

“I’ve really enjoyed it so far. It’s been a good opportunity to test myself and learn new skills. I’ve started college this week on a four year electrical course, which is going to be really valuable to my role. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into a new challenge and gaining a new qualification.”

Apprenticeships like this sit at the heart of RA Dalton and are crucial to how we continue to grow our engineering team, while ensuring our quality of service is upheld to the best possible standard.
