Bespoke Treatment Plant Installation with Clearwater Technology

RA Dalton was appointed to deliver a custom wastewater solution for a residential property previously connected to a shared drainage system. The homeowner requested a summer installation, aiming to disconnect from the communal setup and establish a dedicated treatment system that meets modern standards and building control regulations.

Strategic Planning and Site Preparation

This project required careful planning to respect the boundaries and infrastructure of neighbouring properties. Our team developed a bespoke drainage navigation strategy, ensuring minimal disruption while complying with all regulatory requirements.

To begin, RA Dalton provided:

Comprehensive Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to cover the proposed works
Full site setup, including temporary fencing and a portable toilet for our installation team
Coordination of site machinery delivery and fuelling, ensuring operational efficiency

System Design and Installation

Due to site constraints, the treatment plant was installed in the front garden, in line with building control compliance. A Clearwater vessel was selected for its reliability and performance, and was installed within a concrete encasement as per the manufacturer’s specifications.

Key installation components included:

47 metres of 110mm inlet pipework from the property to the treatment plant
Four new inlet inspection chambers for system monitoring and maintenance
One outlet sample point to support ongoing compliance checks
4 metres of 110mm outfall pipework, carefully routed across the neighbour’s garden to reach the culvert
Installation of a bottle gully to manage surface water effectively

Compliance and Commissioning

RA Dalton managed the entire Building Notice Application, covering:

Site inspections
Provision of completion certificates

Once installation was complete, the system was fully commissioned, ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability.

As part of this ongoing development, we are pleased to share that Gail Bould will be moving into a broader role within the company as Business Development Operations Manager.

Gail’s journey with RA Dalton

Gail joined us on 2nd March 2026 as an Installations Administrator, becoming part of the team responsible for supporting our installations activity.

While relatively new to RA Dalton, Gail brings more than 15 years of experience across a range of industries, including engineering and technical services, business performance and account management.

Just two months after joining, Gail took on the responsibility of managing the Kingspan account, across both installations and servicing, helping to strengthen the connection between two of our core service divisions.

An insight into Gail’s new role

At its heart, Gail’s new role is about supporting a more consistent and effective approach to new business, whilst continuing to support existing customers and business relationships.

She will be working across departments to help new opportunities progress smoothly, from the first enquiry through to onboarding and ongoing account management.

A key part of the role will be looking at how those different stages connect, helping strengthen processes and improve communication between departments to make the process as seamless as possible for both our customers and internal team members.
