RA Dalton was appointed to support a barn conversion development comprising four new dwellings, requiring a compliant and efficient wastewater treatment system. Our team was tasked with designing and installing a solution that would meet both environmental regulations and the long-term needs of the property owners.

Following initial consultation, a site visit was arranged and percolation tests scheduled to assess ground conditions. With the necessary Environment Agency permit secured, RA Dalton proposed the installation of a Klargester BC Biodisc system, chosen for its reliability and suitability for multi-dwelling applications.

The selected unit – a Klargester BC Biodisc with 600mm invert, designed to serve up to 18 population equivalent – was paired with a drainage field to ensure optimal effluent dispersal and compliance with current building regulations.

The scope of works included:

• Full site setup, including delivery coordination, fencing and welfare facilities for the RA Dalton installation team.
• Provision of comprehensive risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe and compliant execution.
• Operational logistics covering machinery delivery and fuel costs.
• Supply and installation of the Klargester BC Biodisc, securely housed within a concrete encasement in line with manufacturer specifications.
• Installation of inlet pipework.
• Construction of a 152m² drainage field, designed to support long-term system performance.
• Installation of a sample point for ongoing monitoring and compliance.
• Supply and setup of a control kiosk.
• Final commissioning of the wastewater treatment system.

All works were carried out in accordance with building regulations and environmental standards, ensuring the system is fully compliant and future-proofed for the development.
