Product feature – Klargester BioAir

The Klargester BioAir Sewage treatment plant hit the UK markets by storm earlier this year, this was introduced to supersede the Bioficient sewage treatment system giving an economically priced alternative without compromising the manufactural efficiency. Available both as a standard product and a premium version they quickly became popular for a wide scale of applications.

These package sewage treatment plants are available in a range of populations which start at the 6 population BioAir 2 unit all the way through to the BioAir 8 which has a PE of 35. These systems are third party certified to BS EN 12566-3 which is suitable to comply with the 2020 General Binding Rules for a standard discharge to watercourse or ground providing the daily flow is below the EA threshold.

Installation of the BioAir Sewage treatment plant.

Alike the Bioficient treatment plant, the BioAir still incorporates a number of the features that made the Bioficient a market favourite, utilizing a similar shallow dig construction the BioAir is straightforward to install and suitable for installation in trafficked areas.

The overall design of the BioAir makes for an easier installation, especially in areas which may encounter less than favourable ground conditions. The shallow installation depth means that possible costly delays can be avoided if solid rock, high water tables or unstable ground conditions can be avoided by utilising a better-quality substrata at a higher level.

The Klargester BioAir Design

The small, low profile access lid makes for easier replacement where a heavier duty lid is required, this also means a less visibly intrusive installation with the lid sitting flush at ground level, however this unit does require the remote blower housing to be installed within 5 metres of the treatment plant.

The BioAir 2-5 are available as both gravity and pumped outfall which allows for a range of applications to be utilised. Dependant on which BioAir system had been selected these units can be constructed in either GRP or MDPE; The MDPE unit come with a variable extension neck which can be trimmed to the appropriate invert level whereas the GRP systems come in set invert depths of 500mm, 1000mm, 1500mm and 2000mm.

Overall this system is a competitively priced unit available to suit a wide selection of applications.
