RA Dalton was appointed to carry out a local septic tank upgrade for a four-bedroom residential property, ensuring full compliance with current wastewater regulations and long-term functionality for the homeowner. The project required a robust and environmentally sound solution tailored to the site’s specific needs.

Our team began by setting up the site, coordinating the delivery of essential machinery, and installing temporary fencing to support the installation process. A comprehensive Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) was prepared to ensure safe and compliant execution of all works.

Operational logistics included the delivery and fuelling of site machinery, enabling efficient progress throughout the installation.

Following site preparation, RA Dalton installed a Klargester 3,800 litre shallow dig septic tank – a cylindrical shaped tank with a lower profile, securely housed within a concrete encasement in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. This tank was selected for its durability and suitability for domestic applications.

To support the system, we installed:

• 18 metres of new 110mm inlet and outlet drainage pipework
• 25 metres of new drainage field, designed to facilitate effective effluent dispersal
• Two 450mm inlet inspection chambers with D400 covers
• One sample point with a D400 cover for ongoing monitoring and compliance

All drainage components were installed to meet current building regulations and ensure optimal system performance.

RA Dalton managed the Building Notice Application, including all associated administration costs, site inspections and the provision of completion certificates. As part of the final phase, the existing redundant septic tank was safely decommissioned and infilled, leaving the site clean and compliant.
